What this lesson teaches
A community changes over time. Long ago it may have had dirt roads and few people. A timeline shows events in the order they happened, from earliest to latest.
Worked example
A timeline of your town might show a school built in 1900, then electricity in 1925, then a new library in 2010 — each event placed in order along a line.
Practice questions
- Name one way a community can change over time.
- On a timeline, does the earliest event go first or last?
- Make a short timeline of three things that happened in your own life.

Una comunidad cambia con el tiempo. Hace mucho quizás tenía caminos de tierra y pocas personas. Una línea del tiempo muestra los sucesos en el orden en que ocurrieron, del más antiguo al más reciente.
Ejemplo: La línea del tiempo de tu pueblo podría mostrar una escuela construida en 1900, luego la electricidad en 1925 y después una biblioteca nueva en 2010 — cada suceso colocado en orden sobre una línea.
