Maps, Globes, and Directions

What this lesson teaches
A map is a flat drawing of a place seen from above, and a globe is a round model of the whole Earth. A map key tells what the symbols mean, and the four cardinal directions are north, south, east, and west.
Worked example
On a park map, a small green tree symbol shows the picnic area, and the key tells you the blue line means a river you can find to the west.

Mapas, Globos y Direcciones
Un mapa es un dibujo plano de un lugar visto desde arriba, y un globo terráqueo es un modelo redondo de toda la Tierra. La clave del mapa dice qué significan los símbolos, y los cuatro puntos cardinales son norte, sur, este y oeste.
Ejemplo: En el mapa de un parque, un pequeño símbolo de árbol verde muestra el área de picnic, y la clave te dice que la línea azul es un río que puedes encontrar al oeste.
