What this lesson teaches
Add or subtract by working with hundreds, tens, and ones separately. Regroup when a place has more than 9 or not enough to take away.
Worked example
325 + 143: ones 5+3=8; tens 20+40=60; hundreds 300+100=400; put together: 400 + 60 + 8 = 468.
