What this lesson teaches
We can sort things into groups and count each group. Then we can tell which group has more or fewer.
Worked example
In a bag: 3 red, 5 blue, 2 green blocks. Blue has the most. Blue has 2 more than red because 5 - 3 = 2.
Practice questions
- 4 cats, 6 dogs, 1 fish. How many pets in all?
- Using the pets above, which group has the most?
- How many more dogs than cats? (6 dogs, 4 cats)
