What this lesson teaches
Some words belong in the same group, and some words are opposites.
Worked examples
Example 1
Apple and banana are both fruits; big and small are opposites.
Example 2
Dog and cat are both animals; hot and cold are opposites.
Example 3
Some words are almost the same. Big and large mean nearly the same thing, so you can use either.
Practice questions
- Name three animals that go together.
- Say the opposite of 'up.'
- Which foods belong in one group?
