Presenting Claims Clearly

What this lesson teaches
A good presentation states clear claims, backs them with relevant facts and details, and uses eye contact, volume, and pacing so listeners follow your salient points.
Worked examples
Example 1
Weak: mumbling 'Um, dogs are, like, good pets.' Strong: 'Dogs make loyal pets — they lower stress and encourage daily exercise,' spoken clearly with a pause before each reason.
Example 2
Say the claim, then the reasons, then the claim again. An audience that hears the structure can follow an argument it disagrees with.
Example 3
Looking up from your notes twice is worth more than memorising the whole thing and staring at the floor.
Practice questions
- State a claim aloud in one clear sentence, then add two supporting facts.
- Practice saying it while making eye contact and pausing between points.
- Record or perform a 30-second talk and note one delivery choice to improve.

Presentar afirmaciones con claridad
Una buena presentación plantea afirmaciones claras, las respalda con hechos y detalles pertinentes, y usa contacto visual, volumen y ritmo para que se sigan los puntos clave.
Ejemplo 1: Débil: murmurar 'Eh, los perros son, como, buenas mascotas.' Fuerte: 'Los perros son leales — bajan el estrés y motivan a hacer ejercicio,' dicho claro con una pausa antes de cada razón.
Ejemplo 2: Di la afirmación, luego las razones, luego la afirmación otra vez. Un público que oye la estructura puede seguir un argumento con el que no está de acuerdo.
Ejemplo 3: Levantar la vista de tus notas dos veces vale más que memorizarlo todo y mirar al piso.
