Article vs. Video Report

What this lesson teaches
The same news or topic can appear as text, audio, or video, and each medium portrays it differently. Compare how images, sound, or words shape your understanding.
Worked examples
Example 1
An article explains a wildfire with numbers and quotes; a video shows orange skies and crackling audio. The article informs precisely; the video makes it feel urgent — each portrays the subject differently.
Example 2
A transcript of the same interview strips out the pauses and the tone, and with them a lot of what the speaker actually conveyed.
Example 3
A video can show you a thing is bad without letting you check how common it is. One dramatic clip is not a rate.
Practice questions
- Find an article and a video on the same current topic.
- Name one thing the video shows that the article can only describe.
- Explain which medium gave you a clearer or stronger understanding, and why.

Artículo frente a reportaje en video
El mismo tema puede aparecer como texto, audio o video, y cada medio lo retrata distinto. Compara cómo las imágenes, el sonido o las palabras moldean tu comprensión.
Ejemplo 1: Un artículo explica un incendio con cifras y citas; un video muestra el cielo naranja y el crujido del fuego. El texto informa con precisión; el video lo hace sentir urgente.
Ejemplo 2: La transcripción de la misma entrevista quita las pausas y el tono, y con ellos mucho de lo que la persona realmente transmitió.
Ejemplo 3: Un video puede mostrarte que algo es malo sin dejarte ver qué tan común es. Un clip dramático no es una estadística.
