What this lesson teaches
Good writers write regularly, sometimes a quick response and sometimes a long project. Practicing many kinds of writing builds skill over time.
Worked examples
Example 1
In one week you jot a quick journal entry, write a paragraph answer in science, and start a multi-day story — different lengths, all useful practice.
Example 2
A research report takes a week; an exit ticket takes four minutes; a journal entry takes one. All three are writing.
Example 3
Deadlines change what good looks like. A timed essay is judged on clarity, not on the polish you would give a week-long piece.
Practice questions
- Write a quick response to a question in two minutes.
- Plan a longer piece you would work on over days.
- List two very different writing tasks you do.

Escribir Seguido, Largo y Corto
Los buenos escritores escriben con regularidad, a veces una respuesta rápida y a veces un proyecto largo. Practicar muchos tipos de escritura desarrolla la destreza con el tiempo.
Ejemplo 1: En una semana escribes una nota rápida en tu diario, respondes un párrafo en ciencias y empiezas una historia de varios días — distintas longitudes, todas buena práctica.
Ejemplo 2: Un reporte de investigación toma una semana; una respuesta de salida toma cuatro minutos; una nota de diario toma una. Los tres son escribir.
Ejemplo 3: Las fechas límite cambian lo que significa estar bien. Un ensayo cronometrado se juzga por su claridad, no por el pulido que le darías a un trabajo de una semana.
