What this lesson teaches
Living things get many traits from their parents, like fur color or leaf shape. Even so, no two family members are exactly alike.
Worked example
A litter of puppies from the same mother can have different spots, sizes, and ear shapes.
Practice questions
- Compare a picture of a puppy or kitten to its parents and list traits they share.
- Look at seeds from one plant and note how the sprouts are alike and different.
- Explain why brothers and sisters can look similar but not the same.
