What this lesson teaches

Rules and laws are things everyone agrees to follow. They keep people safe and make sure everyone is treated fairly.

Worked example

A stop sign is a law. Cars stop so people can cross the street without getting hurt.

  1. Name one rule you follow at home.
  2. Tell why a stop sign helps keep people safe.
  3. Make up one good rule for a playground and tell why it is fair.
