What this lesson teaches

A mayor and a city council are leaders who make choices for a town. Public helpers like firefighters and librarians do jobs that help everyone.

Worked example

The mayor may decide to build a new park, and a librarian helps you find a good book to read.

  2. Tell one job a librarian does for the community.
