What this lesson teaches
A map is a drawing that shows where places are. A map key tells what the small pictures mean, and the directions are north, south, east, and west.
Worked example
On a map, a small tree picture in the key stands for a park, so you can find the park near your home.
Practice questions
- Name the four main directions.
- Tell what a map key helps you do.
- Draw a simple map of your room and add one thing to the key.
