Where Is Water?

What this lesson teaches
Water is found in many places on Earth, and it can be a solid like ice or a liquid we can pour.
Worked examples
Example 1
Water fills the ocean and lakes as a liquid, and on a snowy mountain it is a solid we call snow and ice.
Example 2
Most of Earth's water is salty ocean water. Only a small part is the fresh water we drink.
Example 3
Water is in the air too, even when you cannot see it. That is where the drops on a cold glass come from.
Practice questions
- Name two places on Earth where you can find water.
- Point to water that is solid and water that is liquid in a picture.
- Explain how the same water can be liquid in summer and solid in winter.

¿Dónde Está el Agua?
El agua se encuentra en muchos lugares de la Tierra, y puede ser un sólido como el hielo o un líquido que podemos servir.
Ejemplo 1: El agua llena el mar y los lagos como líquido, y en una montaña nevada es un sólido que llamamos nieve y hielo.
Ejemplo 2: La mayor parte del agua de la Tierra es agua salada del océano. Solo una parte pequeña es el agua dulce que tomamos.
Ejemplo 3: El agua también está en el aire, aunque no la veas. De ahí vienen las gotas en un vaso frío.
