What this lesson teaches
Pictures in a story help us understand it. They show us the people, the place, and what is happening.
Worked example
A picture shows a girl holding an umbrella with rain falling. We know it is a rainy day, even before we read it.
Practice questions
- Look at a picture. Who do you see?
- What is the weather in the picture?
- Tell one thing the picture shows that the words do not.
