What this lesson teaches

People who speak other languages also have their own foods, music, games, and holidays. Trying these things is a fun way to learn how other families live. Some things will feel new, and some will feel just like home.

Worked example

In many Spanish-speaking countries, children play with a brightly colored pinata at birthday parties, hitting it until treats fall out.

Practice questions

  1. Name one food from another country you would like to try.
  2. What is a holiday or game your family enjoys?
  3. What is one thing that might be the same for kids everywhere?
