What this lesson teaches
Devices join together into networks, and the internet is a giant network of networks. Data still travels in packets that get routed from computer to computer. Keeping a network safe relies on tools like passwords, encryption (scrambling data so only the right person can read it), and being careful on public Wi-Fi, where strangers may be able to watch unprotected traffic.
Worked example
Your home Wi-Fi has a password so neighbors cannot just join it. At a coffee shop, the Wi-Fi is open to everyone, so logging into your bank there without protection is like reading your private mail out loud in a crowded room.

Cómo se conectan los dispositivos y seguridad básica de redes
Los dispositivos se unen para formar redes, e internet es una red gigante de redes. Los datos viajan en paquetes que se enrutan de computadora en computadora.
