What this lesson teaches
Every culture has its own ways of doing daily things, like when families eat dinner, how they celebrate birthdays, or how they say hello. When you ask why people do something a certain way, you learn there is more than one normal way to live, and that builds respect.
Worked example
In Spain, many families eat dinner much later than in the United States, sometimes at nine at night, because the afternoon meal is the biggest of the day.

- Name one daily routine that might differ in another country.
- Why is it good to ask 'why' about a different custom?
- How is asking 'why' kinder than calling something weird?
