What this lesson teaches
Every family is different — some are big, some are small, and each has its own traditions, foods, and celebrations. Describing your own family helps you see what makes you special and respect that other families may do things differently.
Worked example
Maria lives with her mom and grandmother; on Sundays they make tamales together — a family tradition. Diego lives with his two dads and a dog; their tradition is a Saturday bike ride. Both are families.
Practice questions
- Name three people in your family and one thing you do together.
- Draw your family and label each person.
- Tell one tradition or special meal your family shares.

Cada familia es diferente: algunas son grandes, otras son pequeñas, y cada una tiene sus propias tradiciones, comidas y celebraciones. Describir tu propia familia te ayuda a ver qué te hace especial y a respetar que otras familias pueden hacer las cosas de manera diferente.
