Aligned to C3.D4 — C3 Framework for Social Studies State Standards.

What this lesson teaches

After investigating, present your conclusion with evidence to an audience, and consider informed action — a way to apply what you learned to your community.

Worked example

After studying local water pollution, students write a report citing test data and present it to the city council, proposing a cleanup plan — evidence-based civic action.

Practice questions

  1. State a conclusion and the evidence that backs it.
  2. Who is the right audience for your findings?
  3. Propose one informed action based on a topic you studied.
