What this lesson teaches
Reading like a historian or scientist means comparing a text's account of an event to other media, evaluating procedures and data, and citing evidence. You then write evidence-based arguments and explanations.
Worked examples
Example 1
You compare a documentary clip and a textbook on the same battle. The film stresses drama; the textbook gives dates. Comparing them shows which details to trust.
Example 2
A lab report and a history essay both argue from evidence; one calls it 'results' and the other 'sources', and the reasoning underneath is the same.
Example 3
A documentary and a textbook can agree on every fact and still leave you with different beliefs, because they chose different facts to include.
