What this lesson teaches
Climate is the usual weather a place has over many years. Different regions of the world have very different climates, like hot deserts or icy poles.
Worked example
A rainforest near the equator is warm and rainy almost every day, while the North Pole stays freezing cold and snowy.
Practice questions
- Pick two faraway places and find out if each is usually hot, cold, wet, or dry.
- Compare their climates and list two clear differences you notice.
- Explain what clothes you would pack to visit each place and why.
