What this lesson teaches
Plants need water and sunlight to grow strong. Plants also need animals for help. Bees move pollen from flower to flower, and animals carry seeds to new places so more plants can grow.
Worked examples
Example 1
A bean seed planted in a sunny window with water sprouts and grows, but a bean kept in a dark closet stays weak and pale. Outside, a bee landing on flowers carries pollen that helps the plant make new seeds.
Example 2
A houseplant that no one waters for two weeks wilts, then perks back up a day after you water it.
Example 3
A squirrel that forgets where it buried an acorn accidentally plants a new oak tree. Animals help plants move to new places.

Las plantas necesitan agua y luz solar para crecer fuertes. Las plantas también necesitan la ayuda de los animales. Las abejas llevan el polen de flor en flor, y los animales transportan semillas a nuevos lugares para que puedan crecer más plantas.
Ejemplo 1: Una semilla de frijol plantada en una ventana soleada con agua brota y crece, pero un frijol guardado en un cajón oscuro se queda débil y pálido. Afuera, una abeja que se posa en las flores lleva el polen que ayuda a la planta a formar nuevas semillas.
Ejemplo 2: Una planta de interior que nadie riega por dos semanas se marchita, y se recupera un día después de que la riegas.
